Cincinnati — At least nine people, but none seriously, were injured in a shooting outside a bar in Cincinnati early Sunday morning.
Lt. Col. Mike John of the Cincinnati Police Department told news outlets that most of the victims had lower body injuries. Officers opened fire on a suspect who fled the scene, but it is unclear if the individual was actually shot.The suspect was not in custody as of Sunday morning.
"It's a little unusual that the police can't know for sure whether the individual who fired the shot was attacked," John said.
According to John, police used what he called his two "bumballs" to disperse the crowd that had gathered around the officers trying to help the wounded—"a very used "percussion instruments"—with loud sounds.
The shooting took place shortly before 2 a.m. outside Mr. Pitiful's bar in Ohio City's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, a popular nightlife he area. Another shooting in the nearby Central Business District immediately injured two people, but John said it was too early to tell if there was a connection.
