Alyssa Farah Griffin Denounces Trump’s 2024 Presidency, Saying He’s “Weaker Than Ever”

The View’s token conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin has denounced Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, delivering the blow that the former president is “weaker than ever,” but still poses an ongoing threat to the Republican Party.

One of the Hot Topics on today’s broadcast of the ABC talk show was dedicated to Trump’s presidential campaign and how it coincides with his ongoing criminal investigations.

Joy Behar kickstarted the convo, criticizing the GOP for not taking a stronger stance against Trump.

“I’ve been watching reporters interviewing Republicans and not one of them says they will not vote for him if he’s the candidate,” she said, before continuing, “Mitch McConnell will say, ‘He’s not gonna be the candidate. I will vote for whoever’s the Republican candidate,’ then they add, ‘I don’t think he’ll be running.’ But he will be running because that’s what’s keeping him out of jail.”

Last month, Trump announced his campaign to a crowd at Mar-a-Lago, saying, “In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States.”

Griffin, who worked under Trump during his presidency, added to the conversation, “I share the frustration, I’m obviously later to the boat of walking away from Trump – you guys were never with him – of feeling like there’s always something that comes out but when’s it actually going to hit him.”

The co-host added, “But I’d like to take a moment to say that this is the most weakened he’s been since he came down that old escalator in 2015,” citing his tax returns being turned over to the House Ways and Means Committee, the Jan. 6 investigations and more.

Griffin went on to encourage the Republican party to walk away and “reject” Trump, while also dropping the haunting line, “If the GOP walks away from him, he would rather burn the party to the ground than allow it to happen.”

The other hosts agreed with her, with Sunny Hostin chiming in, “let him burn it down,” before suggesting that the party can use this moment to reinvent themselves to “start the party that we were all comfortable with.”

Whoopie Goldberg wrapped the segment by comparing Trump and the Republican Party to a “bad relationship” and commending those who are taking a stance against the former president.

Looks like all are in agreement (which is a rarity for this group).

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
