Baker Mayfield delivers crazy head-butt to teammate during Rams’ comeback win

Baker Mayfield was so pumped up during the Los Angeles Rams’ 17-16 comeback win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night that he delivered a crazy head butt during the victory.

A helmetless Mayfield was caught on video on the sidelines delivering a big head-butt to teammate Robert Rochell, who had his helmet on.

Rochell, a 24-year-old cornerback, took a step backward and put his hand on his helmet after the head-butt, apparently taken by surprise.

It was an impressive comeback for Mayfield. The 27-year-old quarterback led Los Angeles to two late fourth-quarter touchdowns, capped by a 23-yard scoring pass to Van Jefferson with 10 seconds left. Mayfield went 22 of 35 for 230 yards — and eventually snapped the defending Super Bowl champions’ six-game losing streak

“I don’t know if you could write it any better than that,” Mayfield said. “Obviously, we’d like to be a little bit more stress-free, but it’s a pretty damn good story, I’ll be honest with you.”

Mayfield, 27, was waived by Carolina on Monday and claimed by the Rams on Tuesday.

The Rams, who haven’t had Matthew Stafford on the field since Week 11 because of a variety of ailments, are now 4-9. The Raiders fell to 5-8. On Sunday Rams coach Sean McVay said Stafford likely will be sidelined for the remainder of the season with a spinal cord contusion.
