NFL TNF Preview: Colts vs Broncos

NFL Week 5 kicks off on Thursday night with two teams who went into the season in a very familiar situation. Both teams experiencing quarterback changes on very talented rosters with minimal success so far into the season.

This matchup serves as a bounceback for both teams as they are coming off of losses and need to get back on track should they live up to their preseason playoff aspirations. The Colts lost to the lowly Titans, while the Raiders thwarted the Broncos.

Offensive yards have been hard to come by for both units, a major reason for their downfall a quarter of the way into the year. Prone to conservative play calling and a lack of run game, the Colts rank 27th in Rushing yards, 19th overall, while the Broncos sit at 21st in total yards.

As if getting rushing production was hard enough, Broncos Javonte Williams went down with a knee injury and is out for the foreseeable future. Current running back Melvin Gordan has struggled so far into the season, and now the backfield faces serious concerns with depth.

The Colts also lost star running back Jonathan Taylor to injury last week with no timetable for a return. With both teams battling through injuries and anemic offenses on both ends, I will be taking the under at 43 or higher.
