Biden signs a gun control bill in the wake of a deadly mass shooting: "Life will be saved"

On Saturday, President Biden signed thelargest gun control billin almost 30 years, within 24 hours of passing Congress at an extraordinary rate. 

"Time is important. Life will be saved," Biden said in his speech to his country. "From Colombine to Sandy Hook, Charleston, Orlando, Las Vegas, Parkland, El Paso, Atlanta, Buffalo, Yuvarde, and for the daily shootings on the street. Do you just do something for God?"

"Today we did," he added. 

The day after the Senate passed the bill with 65-33 votes on Thursday night, the House passed a bipartisan, safer community law with 234-193 votes on Friday, with 14 people. Republicans have crossed the party boundaries.

The new law is an attempt to avoid the mass shootings that have plagued the United States for many years.

House Pass Sweep Gun Control Bill Amide Series Mass Shooting

Dozens of people were killed last month in two mass shootings in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas, each other within a week.

The Senate then began negotiations between 10 Senate Republicans and 10 Senate Democrats, passing gun regulation reforms across the United States, and gun violence.

The latest legislation encourages states to pass the Hazard Signals Act and expand background checks for ages 18-21.
