The architect of the Golden State Warriors dynasty is stepping down.
Warriors president of basketball operations and general manager Bob Myers is leaving the team, he told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
“It’s just time,” Myers said, according to Wojnarowski.
Myers helped lead the Warriors to four NBA titles and twice won the NBA’s Executive of the Year award.
He was originally hired as an assistant GM in 2011 and was quickly promoted to general manager in 2012.
One of Myers’ key moves was bringing in Steve Kerr as head coach, who helmed the Warriors’ 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022 championship teams.
