A 17-year-old boy was charged with murder this week in the shooting death of another teen in the Bronx, cops said.
The suspect, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was nabbed at his home Tuesday by the Bronx Warrants Violent Felony Squad in connection to the Sept. 25 murder of Jordany Aracena, also 17, cops said.
The shooting took place on Beekman Avenue near East 141st Street in Mott Haven around 6:15 p.m. and appears to be gang-related, police said.
Aracena was approached by five males wearing ski masks and dark clothing before the teen gunman blasted him once in the chest and another time in the arm, cops said.
Surveillance video captured the gunman and his pals sitting on an electrical box at the scene before the shooting — and shows Aracena mortally wounded on the ground as the group flees, police sources said.
Aracena, who was pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical Center, has no prior arrests and was not affiliated with a gang, police said. He lived down the block from the scene.
The slain teenager’s sister, asked by The Post last week whether her brother was targeted, nodded her head yes.
“We don’t have much to say,” added the sibling, Yanilka Aracena. “We’re going to need time.”
Cops didn’t provide a motive or say why the teen may have been targeted.
Four other suspects were still being sought.
