Bradley Beal’s wife, Kamiah Adams, seems ready for a change of scenery after the news of his blockbuster trade on Sunday.
The Phoenix Suns are acquiring the All-Star guard from the Wizards to form a Big 3 with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
Washington reportedly is expected to receive Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, and several second-round picks and pick swaps, though the deal has not yet been finalized.
After news of the trade was made public, Adams shared a curious quote on her Instagram Story that read: “It’s not an ending. It’s just the point in the story where you turn the page.”
The beauty entrepreneur, who was originally tagged in a post that included the quote, wrote, “Foreva eva,” with three pink heart emojis.
The trade news was likely bittersweet as Beal has spent his entire 10-year career in Washington after being selected third overall by the Wizards in the 2012 NBA Draft.
The news broke on Father’s Day, when Beal and Adams attended their son’s baseball game, according to a video she shared on her Instagram Story.
“Working on Father’s Day,” Beal joked in the clip, which showed him carrying a cooler while at a youth ballpark.
“Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy,” Adams said, adding, “Last baseball game of the season.”
In a separate post, Adams shared photos of Beal with the couple’s three sons, Deuce, Braylen, and Braxton, whom the pair welcomed in July 2022.
“The BEST dad!” Adams wrote. “We love you more than words can describe. Thank you for being our rock! Happy Father’s Day Daddy ❤️.”
Beal and Adams tied the knot in 2020 after their nuptials were postponed due to COVID-19.
Now, the couple is headed to Phoenix, where the addition of Beal has boosted the Suns’ status as championship contenders.
It is the second major acquisition for new team owner Mat Ishbia, who landed Durant from the Nets in a blockbuster deal in February.
Phoenix had an early postseason exit in May when they were eliminated by the eventual NBA champion Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals.
Beal is entering the second year of a five-year, $251 million supermax contract he signed with Washington in July 2022.
He currently is the only player to have a no-trade clause negotiated into his deal, which made the move to Phoenix possible.
The 29-year-old guard has averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in his 10 seasons with the Wizards.
