British conservative leaders overthrown by their party

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is up to date with the party's anger following a series of resignations from the government suffering from scandals. I am a leader.

The three leaders so far exiled by fellow Tory are:

Margaret Thatcher

The longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century resigned in tears in November 1990 after the Cabinet Rebellion.

She vowed to fight after a slight win in the first round of the leadership vote, but then she couldn't support her position. Admitted.

She won the third term in a landslide in 1987, but the introduction of a universal "pole tax" paid by all adults, regardless of income, faced fierce opposition.

She also faced deep opposition within her cabinet as she fought decisively to build a close relationship with Europe.

Her former close ally, Jeffrey Howe, has resigned from her cabinet and launched a devastating attack on her European policy in parliament.

This evoked a leadership challenge by former Defense and Environment Minister Michael Hesseltin before John Major took office as the new Prime Minister in a Tory party vote.

Iain Duncan Smith

Duncan Smith, one of the right-wing Euroceptics plots called "bastard" by the majors, went to William Hague in 2001. Instead, he gained conservative leadership. After the party suffered another election defeat to the workers.

His astonishing rise was helped by Thatcher and her supporters of Congress.

However, the self-proclaimed "quiet man" of British politics struggled to hold himself against the worker's charismatic prime minister, Tony Blair.

By October 2003, the Parliamentary Party was unable to move forward against Blair, despite public opposition to Britain's involvement in the war in Iraq. I was in despair.

He lost confidence and became the first tree leader to not fight the general election since Neville Chamberlain, who was accused of soothing Adolf Hitler in the late 1930s.

Teresamei

Former Interior Minister Teresamei came to power in July 2016 after a shocking referendum in Britain resolved to leave the European Union. I grasped. Resignation.

She was immediately in charge of negotiating the terms of the UK exit, but her attempt to negotiate a "soft" Brexit was a hard-liner within the Conservative Party. Shot down by Brexita.

She may convene a snap general election in June 2017, hoping she will strengthen her position on Brexit's rebels and workers.

It's a miserable bet, and the Labor Party makes a strong invasion under its left-most leader, Jeremy Corbyn, and a pro-British union of hardliners in Northern Ireland to get parliamentary support. I had to rely on the members.

She survived a trust vote called by conservative rebels in December 2018. Leadership has been fatally weakened.

She resigned in May 2019 and announced that she had triggered a leadership race that led Johnson to power two months later.
