California surfers injured in a shark attack

The surfer suffered a "serious" injury after being bitten by a shark on a beach in California on Wednesday morning. 

Just before 11:00 am, a man surfing at Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove was injured in a shark attack, Pacific Grove police chief Kathy Madalon confirmed in a statement. 

Immediately after the attack, the surfers were taken to Natividard Hospital in Salinas for treatment. According to Joe Amerio, a member of the Pacific Grove City Council, he suffered severe stomach, arm and leg injuries.

As of Thursday afternoon, the victims were in good shape in the ICU, Hillary, Head of Marketing and Community Relations at Natividad Hospital. Fish says. She met the victim and his family.

California State Park closed Lover's Point and Sea Palm turnout beaches until Saturday as Monterey and Seaside fire departments use aerial drones to search for sharks in accordance with the Protocol. 

Police said the shark had not yet been witnessed and thanked the good Samaritans who rushed to help the surfers after the attack. A video posted on social media by bystander Kevin Phillips appeared to show that the victims were being taken to the shore by paddleboarders and surfers.
