Cam Reddish denies he is seeking a trade from Knicks

Cam Reddish has landed outside the Knicks’ rotation, and he possibly could be headed out of New York.

But after sitting out his second consecutive game Wednesday night, Reddish said multiple times that he hasn’t asked the Knicks to move him.

“I haven’t requested any trades. I have not,” Reddish said after the Knicks’ 113-89 win over the Hawks, his former team. “Y’all seem to know more than me, for real. I don’t know what y’all talking about, but I haven’t requested no trade, nothing like that.”

The Knicks have tried to attach Reddish to a trade seeking to dump the $18 million salary of Evan Fournier, who hasn’t played since Nov. 13, according to The Athletic. Another report published Wednesday stated the Knicks have been working with Reddish’s representatives to find a trade partner.

Reddish was acquired in the January deal that sent a first-round pick to the Hawks, and he’d appeared in each of the Knicks’ first 19 games this season. He made eight starts before missing three games in late November with a groin issue.

With Quentin Grimes taking over the starting shooting guard role in his absence, a healthy Reddish — and Derrick Rose — were left out of Tom Thibodeau’s nine-man rotation in both Sunday’s home win over the Cavaliers and in Wednesday’s game.

“I’m not sure [why]. I’m not the one to ask. I’m not really sure to be honest with you,” said Reddish, who will be a restricted free agent after this season. “I was doing what I could to the best of my ability on both sides of the floor. I’m gonna say it again, all of the other stuff is out of my control.

“My role, all that stuff, isn’t necessarily up to me. I’m just coming in and doing what I’m told to do. … I’ll roll with what Coach say, and that’s that.”

Obi Toppin didn’t return to the game after halftime with what the Knicks said is a sore right knee.

RJ Barrett, who signed a four-year extension worth $107 million guaranteed over the summer, on AL MVP Aaron Judge staying with the Yankees on a nine-year, $360 million deal: “I just saw that this morning. That’s huge. He was great this year, and all congrats to him.

“It takes me a little second when I see the baseball contracts. I’m like, nine years? Sheesh. We do like four or five. But no, man, congrats to him and happy that he’s staying here for another nine.”
