Provincetown's popular Cape Cod Resort declared a sewer emergency on Thursday, closing restaurants and other eateries along part of its bustling waterfront. I ordered it closed immediately.
Provincetown officialssaid in a Facebook postthat homes on the affected sewage system should not have water, such as flushing toilets only "when absolutely necessary." It also states that its use should be reduced.
Officials said all public restrooms would also be closed on Thursday and Friday and portable toilets would be provided.
