Hikers at Capitol Reef National Park in Utah describe flash floods and escapes as follows:

A group of hikers described their escape in dangerous flash floods at Capitol Reef National Park, calling them "insanely lucky."

Postnatal A six-month-old mother was also stranded and the group was able to provide her with an emergency blanket. 

Three young men said Park Ranger was the worst flash flood he had ever seen working there for 15 years.

The office said the park service stated that there were no medical problems at the time and only minor and lacerations were reported.

I contacted the DPS Aero Bureau to see if I could support this effort. 

The DPS helicopter was able to contact and lift to the parking lot with people stuck in the Capitol Valley where the road was swept away.

"About 60 people in the parking lot But that night, the Park Ranger worked hard to clear the road and made it passable, "said the sheriff's office.

In the flooded area, about 7-8 vehicles have become unusable.
