Chase Koepka’s LIV Golf hole-in-one sparks beer-throwing madness

Chase Koepka stepped up to the much-anticipated “Watering Hole” on No. 12 at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia and nailed a hole-in-one before being showered with water, beer and other liquids on Sunday.

As the ball hit the bottom of the cup, Koepka threw his club to the ground and celebrated with fellow LIV golfers Ian Poulter and Paul Casey.

“I smelled like beer the whole entire rest of the day,” Koepka said after the wild celebration that took place after the hole-in-one, according to Golf Digest. “Yeah, it was wild. Crazy experience. I mean, obviously, to do it on a hole like that was super special.”

Koepka finished tied for 24th at 10-under in the event as Talor Gooch won at 19-under.

Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed’s 4Aces won the team competition.

The 12th hole at Grange Golf Club features coliseum-like seating similar to the PGA Tour’s TPC Phoenix.

There is also a live DJ, bars, and walk-out songs as players step onto the tee.

“I’m excited to see the hole,” Chase’s older brother Brooks Koepka said earlier in the week. “Listen, I’ve always loved playing Phoenix. I always thought having like an amphitheater-type crowd around a hole has always been pretty special.”

In 2022, Sam Ryder aced on 16 at Phoenix’s similar “Coliseum” hole as fans similarly exploded with beer.

But LIV Golf’s slogan, “Golf But Louder” certainly lived up to its name on Sunday.
