Coolio’s EMTs attempted CPR for 45 minutes before he was pronounced dead

Paramedics reportedly attempted to revive Coolio with 45 minutes of CPR before he was pronounced dead on Wednesday.

According to TMZ, EMTs found no signs of life when they arrived at the scene, but administered CPR on the rapper “for 3/4 of an hour before concluding it was futile.”

Coolio’s manager, Jarez Posey, confirmed that the “Gangsta’s Paradise” rapper was visiting a friend’s home in Los Angeles on the day he died.

The friend reportedly called paramedics after finding Coolio unresponsive on the bathroom floor of his home around 4 p.m. local time.

The rapper (real name: Artis Leon Ivey Jr.) was 59.

As previously reported, Coolio is suspected to have died of cardiac arrest, though his official cause of death has yet to be confirmed. Cops reportedly did not find drugs or paraphernalia in the bathroom at the time.
