Drone footage captures swimmer's near-miss with 7-foot shark

A shark was reportedly seen swimming under the feet of two swimmers in Florida last week. Captured in frosty drone footage.

Robert Russ said he was on Fox 35 when he and his brother first spotted the seven-foot predator last Thursday, and it was on the boardwalk of Daytona Beach. He said he tracked him swimming about 1.5 miles away from the shore.

At one point the drone captured two of his swimmers. Two swimmers saw the drone hovering over them and started waving at the device.

Just a few feet away, the shark approaches the mate and slides away.

"It swam towards multiple people, realized they weren't food, and moved on," he said.

Russ said there had been several shark attacks in the area this year, and that a fearsome fish believed to be a Blacktip approached beachgoers, making him nervous.

"There have been quite a few people bitten here, so I was momentarily apprehensive to see this, but they generally confirm that it is an unintentional bite," he said.
