Dwyane Wade demanded a legal name and gender change for his transgender daughter. According to court documents obtained by
, his 40-year-old retired NBA star changed the name of a 15-year-old boy from his Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to his Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade. petitioned the Los Angeles Superior Court to change the Blast Thursday.
Also, by request, she will be a woman on all future legal documents.
Wade informed the court that she, being Xayah's mother, had "full authority" to file a petition without Siohvaughn Funches' consent.
