Elizabeth Chambers allegedly posed as her friend to leak Armie Hammer stories

Armie Hammer’s estranged wife allegedly used a friend’s email to leak stories about him to the press.

In screenshots of text messages and DMs obtained by Page Six, Elizabeth Chambers appears to tell her now-former friend that she logged into her email posing as her to plant stories about Hammer, including one claiming he flirted with actress Lily James, well before the “Call Me By Your Name” star became headline news for his so-called “cannibal” fantasies.

In October 2020 — three months after Chambers and Hammer jointly announced their divorce — a text message allegedly sent by the Bird Bakery founder shows her telling her friend they need to “get back to commenting and sending tips.”

“Oh yes, excerpts from his disaster GQ cover shoot,” Chambers allegedly writes. “We need to get back to commenting and sending tips. This time to the Daily Mail in the sun about Lily James.”

In the original Daily Mail story, a source described Chambers as “devastated” and “heartbroken” by the alleged messages, adding, “She is an amazing woman. She doesn’t deserve this. You couldn’t ask for a more stunning devoted wife and she’s a great mom to their two little ones.”

James previously denied any affair between her and Hammer.

That specific message came during the same month that Hammer filed for joint custody of their two kids, Harper and Ford.

In another exchange, Chambers appears to ask her friend to leak photos and videos from the “Social Network” star’s finsta, which became public knowledge in January 2021 when his sexual misconduct scandal first broke. Hammer has denied any wrongdoing.

“Please ask her to pay close attention to his captions and let her know if any of the last nine attachments you just sent did not come through,” Chambers allegedly texted her friend. “It’s highly important that she receives everything” before teasing that there would be “more to come.”

“I need her to agree to you that she will only attribute this to one of his many victims.”

In another exchange, Chambers’ pal appears to ask the TV personality if House of Effie, who is one of the “Call Me By Your Name” star’s alleged victims, is “OK.”

“Yes, she’s just dramatic,” Chambers allegedly responded. “And they’re all crazy.”

Neither Chambers’ reps nor Hammer’s attorney immediately returned Page Six’s requests for comment; however, they did decline to comment to CNN, which first reported the news.

As Page Six previously reported, Chambers appeared to work with Effie to try and secure sole custody of her children; however, Chambers recently said in a new interview that she and the “Death on the Nile” actor are in a “really great place.”

“Given the extent and nature of allegations that were made, Elizabeth sought to determine the veracity of those allegations,” a statement from Chambers’ representative to Page Six read at the time. “She was very sensitive to all parties involved. The safety and well being of their children remains her priority.”

Chambers’ now-ex-friend tells Page Six that she came forward with the screenshots because she no longer felt comfortable.

“She asked and she was my friend,” the pal tells Page Six on why she let her use her profiles. “At first it seemed completely harmless as it isn’t the main email that I use. Then I saw everything she was writing and saying and I got super uncomfortable and lied to her and said that I needed to change my password cuz [sic] I was hacked.”
