NFL Preview: Patriots at Packers
Remember when everyone overreacted after the Packers were dominated against the Vikings in week one? Well, that was short-lived.
While it hasn’t been pretty, especially on the offensive end, Aaron Rodgers and company are slowly turning it around as they gain more steam in the middle of the season.
The Patriots, on the other hand, are dealing with a massive loss at the most important position, with quarterback Mac Jones going down with an ankle injury that will sideline him for a few weeks.
Replacing him will be Western Kentucky sensation Bailey Zappe, a gunslinger who showed promise in his limited preseason play.
Still, it’s not an easy task to throw a backup in against one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. The Patriots already were an anemic offense, and it’s hard to fathom they are going to figure it out in short order. Especially against the Packers’ defense, which is one of the better units in football.
With Romeo Doubs stepping up as a much-needed reliable number one target for the Packers offense and injuries all over the Patriots side, I expect this to be a rout as the market predicts with an already high spread.
