(CNN)Four people in the town of East London, South Africa, are in crisis after attending a tragic party. .. The Eastern Cape office has told CNN that the four are under surveillance at the hospital and authorities are waiting to ask them questions.
After the incident on Sunday morning, five bodies were still unknown and 22 young people died, East Cape spokesman Khuselwa Rantjie told CNN.
Investigations into the cause of death of minors are ongoing, with the youngest minor being only 13 years old.
Rantjie says the tavern owner has not been arrested, but the state liquor committee will close, leaving the pub on Monday to allow the investigation to be completed.
South African police said on Sunday that they were deploying "maximum resources" to investigate the situation surrounding the death of teenagers in taverns.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa condolences to the victims' families.
