Cabinet reshuffle after the French president loses a majority

French President Emmanuel Macron took several ministers on Monday in a cabinet reshuffle expected after his ruling alliance lost a majority in parliament. It was replaced.

Macron has appointed French Red Cross director Jan Christophcom as the new minister of solidarity and disability on behalf of Damien Abad, who is investigating in the sex scandal. Abbado denied cheating.

The foreign, financial and defense portfolio has not changed, but Macron has made some changes to other important positions.

Macron has appointed Lawrence Boon, Chief Economist of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as the new Minister of Europe to replace Clement Beaune, Breman's main negotiator, who will become the new Minister of Transport.

Mayor of Angers Christoph Bechu has been appointed Minister of the Environment in place of Macron's Loyalist Amelie de Montcharin, who lost his seat in the June 19 parliamentary elections.

The Minister of Health and Environment was also replaced because he could not maintain his seat.

Macron's alliance has won the most seats in parliamentary polls, but has lost a majority and needs to build a coalition to advance legislation.

Political analysts saw the election results as a major defeat for Macron, who defeated the far-right leader Marine Le Pen and easily secured his second presidential mission in May.
