Gervonta Davis’ accuser walks back domestic assault accusations

Three days after Gervonta Davis was arrested on allegations of domestic assault, his accuser has walked back her allegations.

Vanessa Posso, who shares a daughter with Davis, wrote on her Instagram Story on Friday that the 27-year-old boxing superstar did not harm her, as she claimed to police on Tuesday.

“The state of our relationship has been in a fragile space and Gervonta and I were both at fault for the argument,” Posso wrote. “While the emotions were running high I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement in an intense moment while I was frantic. Gervonta did not harm me or our daughter.”

Davis was booked into Broward County Jail in Broward County, Fla. on Tuesday on a battery charge. He later made his $1,000 bail and was released on Wednesday, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Audio of Posso’s phone call to 911 emerged on Wednesday, where she could be heard pleading with operators.

“Please help me! I need help, please,” Posso said in the call. “I’m trying to go home, I have a baby in the car and he attacked me in front of the kid. And, now he’s messing up my tires!.. Please help me! He’s going to kill me!”

Davis was accused of striking Posso with a “closed hand”, leaving her with an injury to her upper lip. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Davis is alleged to have “actually and intentionally caused bodily harm to her.”

After he was released from prison on Wednesday, Davis took to his own Instagram in a since-deleted post to claim that the allegations were a set-up for money.

“Do not let these people misguide you all on this bulls–t… this was just yesterday moments before me and my child mother had argument!” Davis captioned the post, which pictured his daughter watching the animated movie, “Frozen.”
