'Honor killing' trial begins for Texas father accused of shooting daughter

A Texas father who was once on the FBI's most wanted list tried more than 10 years ago on suspicion of "honor killings" of his two daughters. It is hung on.

Yassel Saeed has been accused of shooting and killing his daughters Sarah (17) and Amina (18) in 2008. The jury trial for the

case begins in Dallas on Monday, and the jury is expected to hear disastrous testimony, including Sarah's 911 call shortly before her death.

"My dad shot me. I'm dying ... I'm dying," she told the dispatcher after being shot nine times,told WFAA. reported.

Her friends and family said Saeed was dissatisfied with her teenage daughter dating. The family believed that the girls were victims of "honor killings" because she thought her father had embarrassed her family,reported Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ..

"He chased them wherever he went and recorded every move they made," family friend Ruth Trotter told WFAA.

Said continues after alleged murder He fled and landed on the FBI's most wanted list — authorities initially believed he might have fled to Egypt or New York City.

But 12 years later, he was found hiding in Justin, Texas — about 40 miles from where the murder took place.

Saeed's son and brother were convicted of helping him hide, Star Telegram reported. The prosecutor does not seek the death penalty for Saeed, but he is automatically sentenced to life imprisonment without convicted parole.
