Independence Day tradition coverage begins with a women's contest. Thousands of people are expected to return to their original location in the contest on the corner of Surf Avenue and Stillwell Avenue and enjoy the eaters scraping their dogs.

Known as the undisputed champion of the event, 38-year-old chestnut aims to defend 14 titles with crutches to heal fromtendon rupture. The men's event is scheduled to start at noon.
"It's okay," he said on Friday. "I can stand up and eat. I'm excited ... I'm not eating with my feet."
Meanwhile, last year's female champion Michelle Resco, 38, was first in 2021. After winning the title of 30.75 hot dogs and bread in 10 minutes, he is trying to protect his crown.
However, Miki Sudo, the world's number one female fast-eating eater, is back again this year because she was pregnant and she couldn't compete in last year's tournament. Sudo's personal best is an impressive 48 hot dogs.
She is "very excited to be back," Sudo said on Friday, having won seven consecutive titles from 2014 to 2021.
