Dogs are a man’s best friend — so how’s 13 of them?
Collin Standon, 24, is living the dream after deciding to keep an entire litter of Golden Retriever puppies — in addition to the three dogs he already owned.
Standon, who lives in Texas, already was a pet parent to dogs Chloe and Sam — who later went on to have a litter of nine puppies — in addition to Chloe’s sister Emma. Later, he adopted Buddy from a shelter, so the golden retriever wouldn’t be put down.
Now, he has 13 fully-grown dogs: Buddy, Chloe, Sam, Emma, and the nine puppies, named Rocky, Moose, Raider, Cowboy, Pumpkin, Sunshine, Missy, Angel and Callie.
Although life in a dog-filled household sounds like a dream, his day-to-day life is barking crazy.
The dogs go through nine pounds of dog food every day, which adds up to 10 40-pound bags a month.
While Standon did not disclose how much he pays, at the average price of mid-range dog food determined by Woof Whiskers, that’s in the range of about $700 a month for kibble alone.

Although a huge job, Standon is thriving in his busy life — posting his fur-filled life to TikTok, where he has over 325,000 users.
“It’s not like anything you’d ever imagine, happiness is an understatement,” he told South West News Service.
“Challenges would be maintaining them, being golden retrievers they come with lots of upkeep,” he continued. “I hear people complaining about keeping up with one or two — try 13.”
In videos posted on TikTok, Standon shows the parade of golden pooches traipsing through the house, with some users charmed by the furry co-inhabitants while others questioned his sanity.
“If this a joke,” one user questioned.
“Oh the hair! I have 2, I can’t even imagine,” one user marveled.
Meanwhile, one commenter was enviously astonished.
“Is this footage from heaven?”
