I pole-danced at my wedding thanks to my supportive husband

Bride gone wild!

A British newlywed had her unconventional first dance at her wedding — but with her bridesmaids and a pole.

Katt Channon, 29, entertained herself and her guests with a pole-dancing routine, which lit up TikTok with 5.7 million views.

The Hertfordshire, England native has been a fan of the strenuous hobby and took up pole-dancing in 2013 while in college.

She revealed to Caters News Service that her husband Tom has always been “supportive” of her endeavors, especially her dancing ones.

Channon proved just how dedicated she is at her nuptials along with her bridesmaids, who climbed to the top of the pole despite wearing gowns.

“Even in my dress, I thought I’d still go for and get up there. It was also amazing to see old friends from [university] where my love of pole started all up there too,” she jokingly recalled.

Tom, 29, said: “It wouldn’t be our wedding without a pole!”

Despite the bride’s pole-dancing being the highlight of the evening, her friends and family were more shocked that she was able to bring the pole from her house to her wedding venue, the Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living.

“Our guests said the pole gave it our signature stamp on the day,” she said. “When I first suggested doing it, Tom said to me that it wouldn’t be our wedding without having a pole at the reception. I totally agree!”

Channon went on to note how the idea to have a pole at her wedding stemmed from her friend, Zoe, who had her own exotic dancing pole at her reception last year.

The bride also put on a solo act.

Channon explained that her loved ones know that she has a love of pole fitness and so “they weren’t that surprised and as soon as we brought it out all the guests wanted to have a go!”

Channon added how much she has always loved pole dancing and how it’s one of her favorite exercises.

“[It] requires so much strength but during my time pole dancing I’ve met so many amazing people too,” she said.

Aside from the dancing, she remembered other parts of the joyous occasion. She took photos with her groom during the day’s “golden hour” and snapped “some of the most glorious pictures.”

However, there was some grayness to the clouds and rain before the sun came out.

“It really was magical from start to finish and it was the best day of my life,” she exclaimed.
