I take a bus, train and boat in my ‘brave’ 2-hour commute to college

“Planes, Trains and Automobiles” has nothing on this college student.

A TikTok user in Scotland — who goes by @lauren.wep on the platform — is going viral for the extreme measures she says she takes to get to college.

In a TikTok posted last week with 1.2 million views, Laurie documented her commute from Millport, a town off the coast of mainland Scotland, to West College Scotland in Paisley.

She said her alarm goes off at 5:45 a.m. She claims she makes her bed at 6:30 a.m., before boarding a bus by 6:45 a.m.

Since she lives on an island, Laurie gets on a boat at 7 a.m., for a 10-minute voyage, disembarking to “walk up an unfairly steep hill.”

But she’s not there yet. Laurie then gets on a train at 7:23 a.m., reaching her destination at 8:10 a.m. — before beginning a 15-minute walk to campus.

She arrives early at school, where she has 30 minutes to “wait for class to open and stare into [the] distance.”

Laurie’s class starts at 9 a.m., and she gets a 15-minute break at 10 a.m., when she and a friend “debate if we go back in at all.”

They do, but by 10:20 a.m., Laurie admits: “I would say we are back on the grind, but who am I kidding I went on Insta for the next hour.”

Class is over at 11:50 a.m., and that’s when Laurie does all the same steps in reverse to get home by 2:50 p.m.

The Post has contacted Laurie for comment.

She wrote of her seemingly exhausting adventure: “Not once will I ever understand why I chose a college so far away, and why I’ve chosen it again for next year.”

“Girl this isn’t a commute this is the bridge to terabithia,” someone referenced the popular novel and film.

Another person pointed out: “Your commute is longer than the actual class 😭😭 you’re so brave.”

Someone else envisioned how her complicated travel plans could make her tardy.

“‘Laurie why are you late?’ ‘Sorry my boat didn’t show up,’” the user joked.

“Happens all the time in winter, if the boats go off i get a day off,” Laurie responded.

Others thought about the tough-love tales their grandparents told, of allegedly trudging through mounds of snow to get to school.

“You’re gonna tell your kids that you had to go on a boat and climb over hills to go to school and it’s actually true,” one person laughed.
