Thepolicein Cedar Rapids, Iowa, say the pickup truck "contacted" a person in a pro-choice protest.

A Cedar Rapids police spokesman toldIowa News Nowthat one person was sent to the hospital after the Friday incident, and protesters crossed the street with appropriate cues. I explained that I was doing it, but when it changed, the group was still walking on the pedestrian crossing.

According to police, a verbal conflict began between the driver and the protesters, "there was contact between the vehicle and one of the pedestrians."

Ashley Banony, councilor of Cedar Rapids District 5, said on Twitter that the truck was "pushed into peaceful protesters across the pedestrian walkway of federal court."

The protest came after the Supreme Court overturned theRoe v. Wade caseon Friday. It was conducted.

Alexis Russell, hit by a truck, told the outlet that the driver grabbed her sign and pushed it down.
