Mar-a-Lago Hearing on Unsealing of Affidavits
Justice Bruce Reinhart told the Government: to an affidavit that backed a warrant to search the residence of former President Donald Trump last week that ordered the editorial proposal to proceed.
Mr. Reinhart said, "I am not prepared to decide that the affidavit should be fully sealed...at least there is a presumed part that is not sealed." .
He has one week to submit an amendment.
Associated Press, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CBS and other television networks, CNN and others The US Department of Justice objected, but asked US magistrate Reinhart in the case to release an affidavit. The department said it would jeopardize an investigation into Trump's handling of "highly classified materials."
Justice Department attorneys said in court filings that an investigation into Mr. Trump's handling of "highly classified materials" was ongoing, and that the documents contained classified information about witnesses.
