Khloé Kardashian was reportedly engaged to Tristan Thompson in 2021 – despite the reality star claiming she turned him down.
According to a new report from Buzzfeed, Thompson, 31, first proposed to Kardashian, 38, in December 2019, and “revisited the subject of an engagement” in February 2021.
Sources told the outlet that the “Kardashians” star allegedly said “yes” the second time around.
The insider added that the couple – who have since split – kept their engagement under wraps at the time.
Kardashian reportedly called it off 10 months later, however, after news broke that the NBA star cheated on her and impregnated Maralee Nichols.
Page Six has reached out to reps for Kardashian and Thompson for comment.
Buzzfeed’s report contradicts what Kardashian said on the latest episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians.” The Good American co-founder claimed she turned Thompson down after he proposed to her in December 2020, which doesn’t match up with the outlet’s timeline.
As previously reported, Kardashian and Thompson initially sparked engagement rumors in December 2020 when she was spotted wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger.
A rep for Kardashian did not respond to our request for comment at the time.
Despite staying mum on the status of her and Thompson’s relationship at the time, Kardashian continued feeding into the engagement rumors by posting several cryptic posts featuring the massive sparkler for months via Instagram.
She seemingly stopped wearing it in late fall 2021.
Adding even more fuel to the engagement rumors, Thompson allegedly told Nichols via Snapchat that he and Kardashian were engaged and planning to tie the knot.

“I’m engaged but I will be married soon. I told you I won’t and can’t be in the child life at all by no means,” Thompson allegedly wrote to Nichols in messages obtained by Us Weekly in March 2022.
“Why not wait till yoj [sic] find the right person to have a family with.”
During the Season 2 premiere of “The Kardashians,” Kardashian alleged to viewers that Thompson found out about Nichols’ pregnancy in July 2021.
She claimed that instead of being honest with her, Tristan encouraged Kardashian to complete their embryo transfer “by a certain date.” The two then welcomed their second child together, a son via surrogate, in July.
The exes are also parents to 4-year-old daughter True.
