Mila Kunis Says Acting With Ashton Kutcher in ‘That ‘70s Show’ Reboot Is “Weird” and “Uncomfortable”

Jelso fans, your prayers have been answered. Mila Kunis confirmed that her That ’70s Show character, Jackie Burkhart, and Ashton Kutcher’s Michael Kelso, are married with a child in the upcoming Netflix reboot. But even if shippers will be happy, Kunis herself is not.

Talking about That ’90s Show, Kunis told Access Hollywood, “My husband and I are together in it, which is weird ’cause we shouldn’t have been.”

She continued, “I called B.S. I was like, ‘My character would be with Fez.’ I think that I ended up with Wilmer’s character. And I was like, ‘Why are you and I together?’ He was married when ’70s ended, to Shannon Elizabeth’s character, I think.”

Kunis is correct: in the original sitcom, which aired between 1998-2006, the TV couple went their separate ways in the final season. Kelso went to Chicago to raise his child and Jackie got together with Fez, played by Wilmer Valderrama.

When it came to reprising her role, Kunis says filming Kutcher was “weird” and “uncomfortable.” She explained, “I was more nervous doing that than anything else in my career.”

Kunis added, “I don’t know, it made me so uncomfortable. It’s like, acting is bullshit, at the end of the day, it’s all about fucking bullshitting. And so, I’d look at my husband while we were doing a scene or rehearsing and I’d be like, ‘Oh my god, that’s what it looks like when you act.'”

Regardless, Kunis says That ’90s Show will leave fans of the original series “really happy.” The new series takes place in 1995 and follows Leia Forman, daughter of original characters Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon), while she visits her grandparents (reprised by Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith) for the summer.

Original cast members Valderrama and Tommy Chong are also set to return, along with the show’s original creators Bonnie and Terry Turner, who serve as executive producers and writers.
