MLB's Houston Astros throws a compound no-hitter against the New York Yankees

(CNN)Major League Baseball Houston Astros hit the New York Yankees on Saturday with a no-hitter no-run.

Astros starter Cristian Javier threw the first seven innings, recording one walk with 13 strikeouts and 115 pitches. The 25-year-old boy was pulled out seven times and replaced Hector Neris, a rescuer who allowed him to walk twice.

Houston pitcher Ryan Pressly played in the ninth inning, defeating Yankees sluggers Anthony Rizzo and Josh Donaldson, then grounding out Giancarlo Stanton 3-0. Won the victory.

No-hitter No-run is the 14th in Astros franchise history and the first time Justin Verlander has made a no-hitter no-run on September 1, 2019. Houston is the only team to hit and no run the Yankees since 1958.

The Yankees haven't been a no-hitter no-run since the Astros recorded a no-hitter no-run on June 11, 2003 with six pitchers. The Yankees have become a no-hit no-run for the eighth time in franchise history.

The Yankees have lost four times in a row this season, but still boast a record of 52-20 in the Major League Baseball.
