Model Alessandra Ambrosio sells glam NYC penthouse for $2.75M

Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio has sold her Manhattan penthouse for $2.75 million, according to property records.

The home, at 311 E. 38th St. in Murray Hill, is a roomy 1,600 square feet. It comes with three bedrooms, 2½ baths, and sprawling outdoor space with water and skyline views.

It hit the market in June asking $2.99 million.

Ambrosio, who first came to New York as a 17-year-old in 1998 to follow her dream, bought the penthouse for $1.87 million in 2005 — five years after she launched her Victoria’s Secret career.

By the time she retired in 2017, she had spread her wings and moved to Los Angeles to raise her kids and focus on her acting career. She’s also the subject of a new book this year, “Alessandra,” by Stewart Shining, which chronicles the model and photographer’s 20-year friendship.

At first, she rented out this home — which is equally as glam as she is, thanks to double-height 25-foot-high ceilings, massive windows and sleek lines — designed by world-renowned Brazilian architect Arthur Casas. Details include a large wraparound terrace on the first level, plus a balcony and a 535-square-foot terrace on the upper level.

Inside, the apartment boasts an open chef’s kitchen, a separate dining room, hardwood floors, a woodburning fireplace, electric blinds, large walk-in closets with dressing areas and custom built-in storage. The main bedroom features a glass wall that overlooks the main living area and boasts an ensuite bath with an “extra-large” Jacuzzi tub and “privacy glass.”

The 29-story building was constructed in 1984 and features a double-height lobby, along with a doorman, a gym, storage, a bike room and an on-site garage.

The listing broker was Douglas Elliman’s Paul Hazen; Sotheby’s International Realty broker Lena Datwani repped the buyer.
