Mulvaney: Someone 'very close' to Trump told FBI about Mar-a-Lago dossier

Only a handful of people "extremely close" to former President Donald Trump have confirmed that a box of classified documents is kept in his Mar-a federal I may have informed investigators. - Lago Resorts, former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said Thursday.

Multiple news outlets have reported that the Justice Department chose to apply for a search warrant after a whistleblower was filed by a person with knowledge of the warehousing arrangement.

"This is someone who handles things on a day-to-day basis and who knows where the documents are, and will be very close inside the president," Mulvaney said Thursday. he told CNN. "There are probably six or eight people who have that kind of information."

Mulvaney notes that  anyone who has spoken , added that he knew there was a safe at Trump's house and where it was located because he was so close to Trump.

"I didn't even know there was a vault in Mar-a-Lago. I was chief of staff for 15 months," he said.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that federal agents visited a Florida resort in June to discuss government records kept on the premises. It was later reported that a person "familiar with the archived documents" said: More classified documents lay around the resort.

Republicans immediately demanded that Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray explain why they raided the former president's private residence. 

“What was in the warrant? What exactly were you doing? What were you looking for? Won't you give it to me? This is unbelievable,''Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) told Fox News Monday night.
