My cat was missing for 3 days — I found it trapped in drywall

You’ve heard of the cat on a hot tin roof — but what about the cat in a bathroom dry wall?

A woman’s home renovations took a harrowing turn after she realized her pet cat was accidentally trapped inside a wall in the bathroom.

TikTok user Ashlin Hadden posted a video showing her beautifully renovated bathroom, saying contracts were working on it while she was away for three days on a business trip.

Upon Hadden’s return she couldn’t find her pet cat, but later heard some meowing from the bathroom.

“As I’m sitting here trying to figure out where my cat is, I can hear the cat crying from somewhere in here,” she says in the TikTok, now with over 2.5 million views, while she panned the camera around the bathroom.

According to Hadden, the contractors pulled out the bathtub and put in the new shower, hypothesizing the cat must have snuck in when they were cutting the wall.

“I ended up punching a hole in the wall and out comes this,” she says, gesturing towards the cat.

“The contractor — these stupid ass contractors — drywalled my cat into the drywall underneath the bathtub,” she says furiously in the video. “The story of my life. This poor Kitty was locked in there for three days, stuck underneath the drywall.”

However, the passionate pet parent was slammed by many TikTok users, who said she should have employed a cat sitter to look after the feline while she was away.

“Nah that’s on you,” one user wrote, with another agreeing saying, “You paid him to drywall and cat sit? Or just drywall?”

“I have seen this happen before. It’s not the contractors fault, it’s yours,” another critic user wrote.

“1. I wasn’t told they would be cutting a hole,” Hadden said in a comment, defending herself. “2. Yes they knew about the cats. 3. Yes I shut the bedroom AND bathroom doors before leaving.”
