New Jersey Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour has been found shot and killed outside her home Wednesday night, according to reports.

The body of Dwumfour, 30, was discovered in her vehicle after police received a call of shots fired near the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex in Sayreville, NJ, the New Jersey Globe reported.

Dwumfour, a Republican who has served as councilwoman for the Borough of Sayreville since 2021, was pronounced dead at the scene, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville police Chief Daniel Plumwacker told the outlet in a statement.

Authorities are reportedly investigating Dwumfour’s death as a homicide. No arrests have been made as of early Thursday.

Dwumfour, a Republican, was elected to the seat in November 2021. She was not up for reelection until 2024.

Dwumfour was a Certified Business Analyst and Scrum Professional for Fire Congress Fellowship inc. and a part-time EMT. She also served as a Director of Churches for the Nigerian-based Champions Royal Assembly, according to her LinkedIn page.
