Quavo and Offset fight backstage at Grammys 2023 over Takeoff tribute: report

Quavo and Offset got into a brawl so intense backstage during Sunday night’s 2023 Grammys that they had to be pulled apart, according to a new report.

The two performers apparently feuded over the musical tribute to Takeoff, the late rapper who served as one-third of their group, Migos, TMZ reported.

Sources at the awards show told the outlet that just before Quavo took the stage to perform his song “Without You” during the “In Memoriam” segment, he and Offset got into a physical fight over the fact that Quavo allegedly refused to allow Offset to participate in the tribute despite the Grammys requesting it.

Quavo, 31, even went so far as to block Offset, 31, from joining him on stage, which led to the fisticuffs.

Reps for the Grammys and both rappers didn’t immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.

Prior to Takeoff’s murder last fall, Quavo and Takeoff had been extremely close, but Offset had been on the outs form the group, which is also his family. The three members are directly related, as Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew, and Offset is Quavo’s cousin. All three of them grew up together outside of Atlanta.

Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston on Nov. 1, 2022, after an altercation broke out over a dice game. In December, police arrested Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, as a suspect in the murder.

Additionally, police arrested another man — Cameron Joshua, 22 — who was charged with the unlawful carrying of a weapon in connection to the shooting.

Clark was released from jail in early January on $1 million bond. Under conditions of his release, Clark is under house arrest, must wear a GPS tracking device and avoid contact with anyone involved in the shooting investigation. He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 9.
