Resurfaced ‘Drew Barrymore Show’ Clip Shocks Fans, Goes Viral: “Poor Woman Needed to Vent”

The Drew Barrymore Show is full of surprises — and fans are absolutely reveling over a resurfaced video that showed one awkward exchange between two audience members.

During a Drew’s News segment from last season, Drew Barrymore and co-host Ross Mathews asked the audience what they would do if they didn’t like a friend’s partner. When she called on one specific couple, things took an unexpected turn.

As the man responded to the question at hand, replying, “You have to be honest, and also not ruin everything,” the woman seated beside him turned to him and said he, actually, had “ruined everything.”

According to the woman, she had recently tried to propose on the Brooklyn Bridge, but things didn’t go as she had planned. She told the audience, “He said to me, ‘Oh, no, it’s embarrassing. Get up,'” leaving Barrymore with a shocked face.

While the story had nothing to do with the question Barrymore had posed, the woman said she “had to do this.” And though her boyfriend did admit that he was planning to propose himself down the road, it didn’t stop a Twitter frenzy from forming over the resurfaced clip.

“How did she think that story would land,” one wrote, while someone else responded, “She just wanted to share and we love her for it.”

“Poor woman needed to vent,” a third person pointed out.

Another fan posted, “And that’s on ‘you think me proposing to you at the Brooklyn Bridge was embarrassing!? Just you wait, I’ll show you what real embarrassment looks like!!!'”

“The way this is 10x more embarrassing and is probably gonna follow them forever,” one more added.

“The adrenaline rush from the tension and awkwardness in this clip, single-handedly pulled me out of my funk, my bones feel tingly,” another viewer chimed in.

Hopefully, by now he’s proposed — and if not, we hope she has a good lineup of daytime talk shows to visit.
