‘RHOBH’ Alum Lisa Rinna Claims She Quit the Show After Receiving “Death Threats” From “Volatile” Fans

Lisa Rinna has finally opened up about her shocking exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — and according to the former reality star, the world became too “volatile” for her to remain on the hit Bravo show.

While speaking to The Evening Standard’s ES Magazine, Rinna — who starred on RHOBH for eight seasons before announcing her departure earlier this year — asked what more she could have done on the show besides “generate more memes.”

She revealed that her decision to leave was sparked by the backlash she received from fans following the show’s most recent season, where she was hell-bent on taking down Kathy Hilton after an Aspen trip gone wrong.

“I think the world itself has gotten so volatile that the response doesn’t match what we’re doing,” she said. “I didn’t want to live like that. I don’t think that’s healthy. The way the fanbase reacts to the show now is not how it was when I first started.”

Rinna continued, “I mean, we were getting death threats. Some of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen in print in my life, and it’s a reality show! It’s a stupid show! I thought: ‘It’s time to go.’ I’m not sure how much longer that can exist in the zeitgeist, to be honest with you.”

Plus, the Days Of Our Lives alum revealed that her mother Lois, who died nearly two years ago, came to her in a dream — which helped with her decision to leave the show.

“I was sleeping and I heard her say to me: ‘It’s time for you to go.’ I told a psychic and she said: ‘Oh yeah, she’s come to me and told me that. She wants you to be happy and follow your dream, but she says it’s time for you to go,'” Rinna explained.

She added, “I’ve never told anybody that, except for the psychic. I’m guided by my mom, for sure.”

While Bravo boss Andy Cohen recently claimed that Rinna was simply put “on pause” in his book Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up, a rep for the star said otherwise.

“There was never any discussion with anyone about that concept,” the rep told E! News. “Her contract ended, and the parties mutually agreed not to engage on a new one. She felt her time on the show had run its course and she was more than happy to move on. And she still does not regret it.”

You can rewatch Rinna’s infamous run on the show on Peacock, where The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is currently streaming.
