Authorities say a Russian military cargo plane crashed, killing four crew members and injuring several others
Moscow-A Russian military freighter crashed on Friday, killing at least four crew members and injuring several others, officials said.
A large cargo Il-76 freighter has descended in southwestern Ryazan. The Russian Defense Ministry said the plane had an engine problem that forced the crew to crash and land it on the ground.
Local governments said four crew members were killed and five more injured when the plane crashed into a field just outside the city of Ryazan. Officials said the injured were hospitalized in serious condition. The
4-engine Il-76 was designed in the 1970s and has served as the main heavy cargo aircraft of the Soviet and Russian Air Forces. It is also widely used in many countries around the world.
