Sara Haines and Joy Behar Clash During Heated Infidelity Debate on ‘The View’: “Orgy and Sex? Fine. Love? No”

Did Sara Haines just give her husband the go-ahead to have casual sex with other women? It sure seems so — and on live, daytime TV, no less. During today’s episode of The Viewthe co-host spilled on her marriage, and also clashed with Joy Behar over what they’d be willing to forgive with their respective spouses.

Haines, who was adamant that she would be the first one to step aside if her husband revealed he was in love with someone else, admitted that she would be willing to work through other mistakes — such as orgies and flings — now that she has to take her children into consideration.

“I literally joked the other day — if Max came in and said he had an orgy with 40 women, I’d be like, ‘We’re gonna need to talk about this,’” she said. “My old self would say, ‘I’m out,’ but now it means so much more. There are more people at stake, there are lives at stake. Is this something I can salvage? Is this a conversation, a growth moment? Can we come back from this?”

However, things wouldn’t be as civil in the Behar household.

After bluntly admitting that she would “strangle and stab” her husband in his sleep if he cheated on her (watch out, Steve!), Behar quickly jumped in to let her co-host know that she doesn’t feel there’s a solution to that situation. She added that the couple “would not be happy and the children would feel it, anyway.”

Despite this, Haines firmly believed she would be able to work through infidelity as she told Behar, “If there’s something you still want to fight for and work toward, I do believe there can be reconciliation that doesn’t affect the kids.”

When Behar pointed out that there’s “something wrong in the marriage” if the man is “falling in love with someone else,” Haines immediately snapped back, reminding her co-host of what she said earlier in the segment.

“Oh my God, falling in love they’re out, Joy. Did you hear that?” she asked. “If he drops the ‘L’ word, I’m done. Orgy and sex? Fine. Love? No.””

The View airs on weekdays on 11/10c on ABC.
