Can you believe we have to wait more than six weeks for new episodes of Yellowstone? Lucky for us, the fine cowpokes at Paramount Network have released the first trailer for Season 5 of TV’s #1 show. Creator Taylor Sheridan and his team have dropped a surprising amount of information in the nearly 2-minute preview, and we can’t wait to analyze every second of it.

The trailer begins with John Dutton (Kevin Costner) being sworn in as the Governor of Montana. After his sometime lover and soon-to-be Senator Lynelle Perry (Wendy Moniz) warns him that he has no friends in the building, we see John quickly fire the incumbent staff and hire everyone’s favorite hellraiser Beth (Kelly Reilly) as his Chief of Staff. Jamie (Wes Bentley) can only watch it all go down as he’s back in the fold and under Beth’s thumb. He warns Beth, “They will fight you. They will fight you dirty.” Beth wonders out loud, “Is there any other way?”

Knowing the Duttons, there isn’t. Elsewhere, Market Equities CEO Caroline Warner (a snarling Jacki Weaver) is determined to destroy Beth and the Duttons, given the events of last season. She’s hired a new corporate shark, Sarah Atwood (1883 star Dawn Olivieri), to her help on her quest for vengeance. “Ruin them, starting with her,” Caroline commands. Sarah replies, “I love it when she gets mad. It means I’m gonna make a lot of money.” Are these two savvy and ruthless business women a match for Beth? We’ll have to wait and see!

As Kayce (Luke Grimes) struggles with his obligations to his father and his duties to a distraught Monica (Kelsey Asbille), we get glimpses of Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) cleaning up various messes and our favorite Bunkhouse boys acting rowdy. As the trailer ends, title cards remind the audience that power has a price. We’ll have to wait until Season 5 premiers with two (!) all-new episodes on Sunday, November 13 to start finding out more about the consequences of the Dutton’s ambitions for themselves and their loved ones.
