German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday denied that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had made light of the Holocaust. Abbas, who visited Berlin on Tuesday, was asked about the Munich Olympics marking his 50th anniversary since Palestinian militants attacked Israelis.
Abbas spoke of Israeli murders of Palestinians since 1947, stating, "Israel has committed 50 massacres, slaughters, and deaths in Palestinian villages and cities, including Deir Yassin, Tantula, and Kafr Qasim." 50 massacres, 50 Holocausts.”
“Especially for us Germans, relativizing the Holocaust singularity is unbearable and unacceptable. I condemn any attempt to deny," Scholz posted.
