The US Supreme Court has agreed to address the corruption case against the disgraceful Governor Andrew Cuomo's longtime aide, Joe Percoco.

Percoco, who managed Kuomo's 2014 reelection campaign, said in 2018 that he received more than $ 300,000 from a company that wanted to influence the former governor's administrationI was convicted.

He was releasedtwo years earlier at the end of last year, after being sentenced tosix years in prison later that year.

In his favor, the SCOTUS ruling will effectively ban allegations of federal bribery against civil servants, regardless of their influence on elected civil servants.

"Generally speaking, bribery cases involve someone paying a civil servant or giving something to a civil servant, right? Percoco was not a government official at the time, right? "Jones Day's lawyer, Yaakov Ross, who represents former Cuomo's best friend, told the post Thursday.

"Because he was a campaign manager, the question is: Can he be convicted of receiving a bribe without having a government position?"
