Authorities in Northern California's Placer County sought the help of the public to locate 16-year-old girl Kiely Rodni. increase.CBS Sacramento reportsabout possible kidnappings.
Rodni, Truckee, northeast of Sacramento, was last seen early Saturday morning near her family's campsite in Truckee, Prosser, according to the sheriff's office. She was at a high school farewell party attended by dozens of young people.
Rodni's car, her 2013 Honda CRV in silver with California license plates, is also missing. The teenager's phone has been dead since the party.
Her Sami Smith, a friend of Rodni's, says she spent most of the night with her and Rodni was planning to spend the night at the campsite.
"I know she was not in the right mindset or state to drive. She wouldn't have made it... far," Smith said. "So my concern is that someone may have offered to take her home and not let her home."
Authorities said , which considers her disappearance suspicious.Search and rescue teams spent part of Sunday searching for her.
The sheriff's office is investigating the case as a possible kidnapping as her car is missing.
Rodni's mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, in her video online, pleaded with anyone with information to come forward.
"I just want her house," said Rodni Niemann. "We are so scared and miss her."
