Senate passes bipartisan gun control bill

The Senate passed a bipartisan gun bill late Thursday night with 65-33 votes. 

The bill, led by Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) And John Cornyn (R-Texas), was triggered by the recent mass shootings. Was issued to. .. The shootings at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas were the main impetus behind bipartisan efforts.

"Something many believed that the US Senate was impossible tonight, even a few weeks ago. We are passing the first important gun safety bill in nearly 30 years, "he said in a statement.
