(CNN)Local police said on Sunday that a shooting in a shopping street in Copenhagen killed several people.
One person was arrested, Copenhagen police chief Soren Thomassen told reporters at a press conference. He described the suspect as a 22-year-old Dane. The
Social media footage showed people running through the mall and law enforcement officers armed on the scene.
People will leave the Fields shopping center in Copenhagen, Denmark on July 3, 2022.
At least three people were hospitalized, according to a spokesman for Rigshospitalet, the largest hospital in Denmark.
Additional staff have also been called in to deal with emergencies, the spokesman said.
Thomassen said police could not rule out the case as terrorism-related and extensive police investigations were underway nationwide.
