While it seems like there are always rumors swirling about a new animated The Legend of Zelda movie adaptation, and unfortunately, we don’t have any updates on that, we do have some other exciting news for Zelda fans in advance of the new game coming out in May.
Ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s release, Nintendo announced plans to release a limited edition Nintendo Switch console with a Zelda-themed color scheme and embellishments.
Shortly after confirming these plans, the console was put on pre-sale with an anticipated release date of April 28, just two weeks before the new game hits shelves. The pre-orders are selling quickly, but they’re still available from retailers including Target and Best Buy.

Featuring a 7-inch OLED screen, this limited edition Switch console includes a brand new joy-con with the green and gold color scheme synonymous with Zelda, plus new symbols and designs that are from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The glossy white dock is printed with symbols that include the Hylian Crest, and the console itself features a mysterious pattern that appears around Hyrule.
Like other Switch models, it features a LAN port to create a wired connection between the console and your TV. With enhanced audio and 64GB of internal memory, this console is a must have for any Zelda fan.
