Steve Stricker reveals "the most horrifying part" about a horrifying mysterious illness

Former Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker fought a horrifying battle with the mysterious illnessthat almost killed him last year. Open.

Stricker's embarrassing illness (which doctors don't fully understand yet) began in October 2021 as sore throat and severe coughing. He was prescribed antibiotics and allowed to hunt deer with his friends, but then that night he experienced extreme lateral pain and 103 fever.

Stricker was first hospitalized a few weeks before Thanksgiving and was diagnosed with pericarditis and arrhythmias, sometimes reaching 160 beats per minute. However, many of his symptoms were more noticeable, and sadly, the 55-year-old was too familiar.

"My brother had a GI problem, so he I saw him go through, the same thing, "Stricker told theAkron Beacon Journal. "I saw him turn yellow, his eyes were yellow, I was looking in the mirror, and I said," Oh, well, I'm on the same kind of road. " It seems that. The problem was different, but it looked yellow, his eyes were yellow, and he was peeing coke-colored urine ... that was probably the scariest part.

While staying at the UW Health University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, doctors scrambled to find out what was wrong with the acupuncturist, but he didn't help.

"Everything is heading south and they tell me they don't know," Stricker said. "If they were, it would probably be easier.'This is what's happening.'

" They have cancer, liver cancer, liver problems, and you're just , I just pray that there is nothing to come back with a bad reading. They had a biopsy of my liver. There were a lot of things. "

Tricker quit playing golf for six months. During that time, he lost 25 to 30 pounds because he couldn't eat solid food or walk to the bathroom, he says. However, the PGA Tour Champions Star made a miraculous recovery and he was able to return to sports on April 29th.

Since returning to competition, Stricker has garnered a win, two second-place finishes and five top 10s over six Champions Tour events.
