Like the stock market, the endless US horsepower war has been ups and downs for years, but records continue to break and the long-term outlook remains bullish.
And it's not just the bigger and better versions of the classic V8 engine that are packed with punch.
The transition from gas to electricity further improves the level of performance, and automakers are taking full advantage of this technology.
Here's what's happening in the 2022 volume model:
2022 Lucid AirDream Edition Performance 1,111hp
Lucid AirDream Edition performance is sold out. (Lucid)
Lucid Air may be a luxury sedan, but it has a dynamo. The top version of the all-wheel drive Arizona car is rated at 1,111 hp and can accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds while offering one of the most spacious interiors in its class. And while the $ 169,000 model is sold out, the 1,050hp Air Grand Touring is still available for $ 154,000.
2021 Tesla Model S and Model S Plaid: 1,020 hp
The Tesla Model S Prad is the new top model for automakers. (Tesla)
The Tesla Model S sedan and model XSUV are both references to the movie "Spaceball", a plaid that uses three electricity. Motors that provide 1,020 horsepower on $ 135,900 and $ 138,900 vehicles available on the powertrain.
2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon: 808 hp
The resurrected demon is so extreme that one major car publicationis calling for a ban (and immediately shouted by muscle car fans.) The beast comes with a drag radial, transmission brakes, and just one seat to pop Willy. That supercharged 6.2-liter V8 will be 808hp with pump gas, and if somehow you think it's not enough, Dodge can make it compatible with 100 octane race gas that raises it to 840hp. I can do it.
2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Superstock: 807 hp
Challenger SRT Superstock was designed primarily for drag racers. (Dodge)
Dodge only created 3,300 daemons and promised the owner no more. It kept that promise, but it was just that. The 2020 Challenger SRT Superstockwill check in from the Hellcat V8 with 807 hp. Without a transmission brake, you can't pop Willy, but with 1/4 miles covered in 10.5 seconds, Dodge builds as many as the market wants.
2022 Dodge Challenger SRT and Charger SRT Jailbreak
Charger and Challenger jailbreaks allow for a wide range of customizations. (Dodge)
Dodge provides the same motors as the Challenger SRT Superstock for theChallenger and Charger Jailbreak model. Combine a wide variety of paints, trims and packages to create a truly unique car starting at $ 87,120 and $ 89,190.
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye: 797 hp
Dodge says Hellcat Redeye is owned by the daemon. I don't know about that, but its 797 horsepower engine screams like a banshee.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: 760 hp
The Shelby GT500 has always been a special drag race, but Ford can take turns in this next edition. Promises in a straight line.
2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: 755 hp
The 2019 ZR1 is the most powerful front engine corvette in history and can last forever as the corvette is replaced with a brand new one. There is a mid-engine version of 2020.
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat 717 hp
Challenger SRT Hellcat won a 10 horsepower boost in 2019.(Avoid)
To celebrate the 4th anniversary, the standard Challenger SRT Hellcat gained a 10 horsepower boost. It didn't really need it.
2015 Dodge Challenger / Charger SRT Hellcat: 707 hp
Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats has begun the current era of tremendously powered muscle cars.(Dodge)
Dodge's original Hellcat Brothers appear to be tame compared to their successors, but still serious to consider. It is a power. If you can't decide between them, keep the following in mind: The Challenger can reach 199 mph, but the slightly aerodynamic body of the charger is suitable for 204 mph.
2022 CADILLAC CT5-V BLACKWING: 668 hp
The CT5-V Black Wing is the most powerful Cadillac sedan in history. (Cadillac)
$ 84,940 The CT5-V Blackwing is a luxury sedan with two less supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engines. It is. It has higher horsepower than the NASCAR Cup Series cars and has a top speed of over 200 mph. Cadillac has vowed to be fully electric by 2030, so don't expect to see anything like that again.
2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: 662 hp
When it's new, the lastShelby GT500is the most powerful American car ever But today it looks like a 98-pound weakening. Still, the effectiveness of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine cannot be denied. And I'm going to complain about Mustang who can reach 202 mph.
2020 Ford GT: 660 hp (up from 647 hp in 2017)
Mustang is more powerful than a $ 450,000 supercar, but carbon fiber GT has a top speed At 216 mph, there's nothing embarrassing.
2018 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 / Camaro ZL1: 650 hp
Like the Corvette Z06 and Camaro ZL1, it shares a 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine. (Chevrolet)
6.2 Two high-performance cars from the same company with a 2-liter supercharged V8 engine. Well, it's familiar. However, although these two outputs are the same, the engines are slightly different. The Corvette uses a truck-friendly dry sump refueling system, while the ZL1 uses a proven wet sump design. 'Vette also beats the Camaro with 7 to 6 gears on the manual transmission. However, while the ZL1 automatic returns powerfully with a brand new 10-speed automatic, the Z06's automatic works well with just eight.
2017 Dodge Viper: 645 hp
The Viper was Dodge's last true sports car. (Dodge)
The Viper's 8.4-liter V10 was the largest engine of any car at the time.
