Like the stock market, the endless US horsepower war has been ups and downs for years, but records continue to break and the long-term outlook remains bullish.
And it's not just the bigger and better versions of the classic V8 engine that are packed with punch.
The transition from gas to electricity further improves the level of performance, and automakers are taking full advantage of this technology.
Here's what's happening in the 2022 volume model:
